The NVIDIA Canvas is a tool to turn your simple brushstrokes into realistic landscape images.
To get started with this tool, you’ll need to have an NVIDIA RTX GPU installed on your computer. Download and install the application, making sure to review the system requirements before proceeding. After installation, you can start creating your own images.
You have to paint simple shapes and lines with a palette of real-world materials, like grass or clouds. You can change the materials such as grass to snow by changing the color of the material.
You have the ability to personalize your image to meet your specific needs. You can adjust the appearance and texture of your painting using nine styles in Standard Mode and eight styles in Panorama Mode, as well as a variety of materials such as sky, mountains, river, and stone. Additionally, you can paint on different layers to keep elements distinct. Whether you prefer a blank canvas or a pre-designed sample scene, you can easily find inspiration for your project.
With this tool, you can easily create wraparound environments and export them as equirectangular environment maps to any 3D application. These maps can then be utilized by artists to enhance the ambient lighting in their 3D scenes and to create realistic reflections.
After creating your desired image on Canvas, you can easily import it to Adobe Photoshop to further refine it or merge it with other artwork. Moreover, you can import images to 3D applications like NVIDIA Omniverse™ USD Composer (previously known as Create) and Blender using Panorama.
This tool provides a guide on how to use each feature as well as feedback and release notes.
Is NVIDIA Canvas free? Yes, NVIDIA Canvas is free to use if you have specified NVIDIA RTX GPUs installed in your system.
